Privacy notice
Written in plain language, because you have enough to read right now. This describes exactly what we collect, why, who sees it, and how to have it removed.
Last updated September 4, 2026.
The short version
- You can read this whole site without an account and without telling us anything.
- We only collect personal information in one place: when you ask a dad to reach out.
- We never sell or rent your information, and we don't run advertising trackers.
- We never contact your partner, your family, your employer, or anyone else about you.
- You can ask us to delete what you gave us, and we will.
Browsing this site
No account, no sign-up, no profile. The concerns you choose are carried in the web address of your results page so the page can build your steps. They are not stored on our side and are not connected to your name. Because they appear in the address bar, anyone with access to your device or browser history could see them. If that is a safety concern, use a private browsing window or clear your history.
When you ask a dad to reach out
- To have someone contact you we collect your first name, your phone number, whether you prefer a text, a call, or a scheduled talk, the general time of day that works for you, and any optional topics you tag. We use it for one purpose: to have a dad on our team get in touch with you and to keep track of whether someone already has.
- We do not need your last name, address, email, or your partner's information, and we ask you not to include details about anyone else.
Who can see your request
- Requests are stored securely and can only be opened by approved members of the What Now Dad team who are signed in to a private team page. Nobody else — not other visitors, not pregnancy centers, not the public — can view them. Team members add short notes about the conversation only so follow-up doesn't get dropped or duplicated.
- We may share information without your permission only in the narrow cases the law requires: a valid legal demand, or a credible risk of serious harm to you or someone else.
Service providers
The site and its database run on hosting and cloud services that process this data on our behalf under their own security commitments. Map images come from OpenStreetMap, which sees your general network location when the map loads. Any outside organization we link to — a pregnancy center, a hotline, a medical site — has its own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.
Your location
The center finder never asks for your location until you tap "Use my location." If you do, your browser shares approximate coordinates with the page to sort results by distance. We do not store your coordinates or your search terms.
How long we keep things
We keep a contact request for up to 12 months after your last contact with us, then delete it. Team notes are deleted with the request. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we do that instead.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of what you gave us, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or tell a dad to stop contacting you at any time — just say "stop" and the contact ends. Tell whoever reaches out, or use the contact details on the About page. We'll confirm when it's done.
Children
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If a request appears to come from a child, we delete it and encourage them toward a trusted adult or a local pregnancy center.
What this site is not
Nothing here is medical, legal, or mental-health care, and talking with a dad on our team does not create a doctor, counselor, or attorney relationship. In an emergency call 911. If you may harm yourself, call or text 988 in the U.S.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
